A day in Paris

European Innovation Council (EIC) & Orange Corporate Day

This week the CLTRe Crew had the opportunity to visit Orange at their offices in Paris to explore a partnership opportunity. The event was organised by the European Innovation Council (EIC) and Orange, and is one of the many ways EU is helping startups in Europe to connect with large enterprises.

CLTRe was selected as one of only 16 companies to meet with Orange and their team of business innovators.

“On 14 March 2019, a hand-picked number of companies funded by the EIC pilot will have the opportunity to pitch and present their business cases and to engage in one-on-one business meetings with Orange representatives in Paris,” explain the EU Executive Agency for SMEs (EASME).

Representing CLTRe at the pitching event is our CEO, Kai Roer. “The EIC Corporate Day is a unique opportunity to meet with decision makers,” he said. “It may take months of effort and lots of research to enter into dialogue with a large enterprise. The corporate day removes much of those obstacles for us as a small company, and we can quickly explore opportunities with the right people.”

As only innovative SMEs funded by EIC pilot programmes are considered, CLTRe is able to take part thanks to its previous participation in the SME Instrument funding scheme. So far, the European Commission has granted CLTRe €50.000 in addition to access to the EIC services.

The CLTRe Crew will be present at other EIC events in the future.
